The steel structure aircraft hangar tent, conceptually designed by Eksen Tent for the Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicle, has been developed for modern aviation requirements with its large-span steel frame, spacious interior and durable membrane covering.
Membrane hangar systems can be designed for the storage, protection, maintenance and operational requirements of UAVs, aircraft and helicopters. Compared with conventional permanent hangars, these structures provide significant advantages such as fast production, short installation time, modularity and relocation.
To ensure the safe storage of unmanned aerial vehicles, the aircraft’s wingspan, overall height, hangar entrance dimensions, maintenance areas and operational requirements must be evaluated together. The wide and column-free interior facilitates the safe movement of aircraft into and out of the hangar. The internal space can be arranged for aircraft maintenance equipment, technical work areas, spare parts storage and operational requirements.

The roof and facades of the hangar can be covered with a high-strength German blockout membrane with a 10-year warranty. The membrane prevents direct sunlight from entering the structure and significantly reduces solar heat transfer. It also helps protect aircraft from rain, snow, wind, sunlight and other outdoor conditions.
Depending on the intended use and climatic requirements, the hangar can be produced with a single-layer membrane or a double-layer air-insulated membrane covering system.
The steel supporting frame is manufactured with bolted connections. This allows the hangar to be dismantled, transported to another location and reassembled when required. Its modular structure can also be adapted according to changing capacity and operational requirements.
