Custom-designed by Eksen Tent, the automatic retractable steel structure padel court canopy system is a modern membrane roofing solution that enables outdoor padel courts to be used more efficiently under different weather conditions.

The motorised retractable roof can be fully or partially closed when required. In suitable weather conditions, the membrane roof can be opened to maintain the outdoor playing experience. During direct sunlight, rain or other adverse conditions, it can be closed to support continued use of the court.

Motorised Retractable Membrane Roof

The membrane roof operates on a specially designed rail system with the assistance of motors and movement mechanisms. When closed, it creates a protective canopy over the padel court. When opened, the playing area continues to benefit from natural light and airflow.

Motors, gearboxes, drive components, rails and control equipment are selected according to the project dimensions. For large spans, the mechanical system is engineered to ensure balanced, controlled and reliable movement.

Steel Structure Supporting System

The supporting structure is designed according to the padel court dimensions, building height, ground conditions, local wind values, snow loads and project requirements. Steel columns, roof trusses, connection components, anchors and foundation connections are manufactured according to structural calculations.

The steel structure padel court enclosure can be designed to span the playing area without intermediate columns. This creates a spacious internal volume that does not obstruct the movement of the ball, the players’ field of vision or the flow of the game.

Durable Membrane Covering

The roof slopes and membrane tensioning details are designed to prevent uncontrolled water accumulation. Rainwater is directed towards gutters and drainage points specified during the project design process.
